今年の冬休み、私は南山国際のうちの一人のメンバーとして、ASEPに加わりました。ASEPは台湾で行われ、そして今回は樹徳高校と合同でプレゼンテーションをしました。

最初はＷＹＭのときのようにスラスラと準備ができるかと思っていましたが、なかなかプレゼンテーションのアウトラインとタイトルが決まらず、結構時間がかかってしまいました。やっと決まったと思ったら、第２学期定期講座が始まってしまったため、２週間くらいの間、何の準備もできませんでした。試験が終わって気づくと台湾へ行くまでの準備期間が残り２週間をきっていて、とても焦りを感じました。樹徳高校とはfacebookやSkypeなどを使って連絡を取り合い、Mr.Pabloに言われた7つのトピックについてちょっとしたパワーポイントを作り上げ、さらに私たち高校２年生の学年全員にアンケートに協力してもらいました。私は、こんな短期間で彼に言われたことが出来るのか、と正直思いましたが、この最高なメンバーのおかげで無事パワーポイントなどは時間内に終わらせられました。

台湾へ飛び立つ日、私は緊張、不安、楽しみでいっぱいでした。この感情は、初めての台湾、私のホストファミリー、樹徳高校の方々、プレゼンテーション、他の日本の学生と先生などに向けられていました。でも台湾に着いたとたん、緊張と不安は薄れていて、いつの間にか楽しみだけが残っていました。

樹徳高校へ訪問した１日目、私はまず生徒の人数に驚き、ちょっと頭がくらくらしてしまいました。それから私は大勢の人にじろじろと見られることがあまり慣れていないので、少し怖くも感じました。学校内見学の後、私たちはプロジェクトに取り組み始め、思っていたよりも準備はいい感じに進み、プレゼンテーションの３日前にパワーポイントと原稿を作り終わり、このときなぜだか私は、こんなにステキな仲間達と一緒にこのようなプレゼンテーションができるなんて幸せだなと改めて思いました。

しかし残念なことに、プレゼンテーションの前の晩、私は体調をくずしてしまって、プレゼンテーションに出席することができませんでした。病院で５時間以上もの間、ホストファミリーは私の隣にずっと居てくれて、本当申し訳ない気持ちと感謝でいっぱいでした。

日本に帰る日がきても、私はプレゼンテーションをすることができなかったからか、私は「日本に帰る」という実感がありませんでした。空港には、ホストファミリー全員とASEPメンバーが見送りに来てくれました。

私はASEPに加わることによってとても良い経験をしたと思います。新しい友達を作って、そのうえ私のホストファミリーと、ASEPメンバーと、それから樹徳高校の他の生徒の皆さんと素晴らしい時間を過ごせました。私は台湾で作った新しい友達とこれからもfacebookなどを使ってこれからも連絡を取り合っていきたいし、また台湾に遊びに行きたいと思っています!!

でももしも時間を戻せるのならば、私は今回のASEPメンバーとプレゼンテーションがしたいです。また、できたら来年もASEPに加わりたいです。

最後に、影戸先生、西先生、お父さんとお母さん、恵理、Li-yue先生とPablo先生と樹徳高校の先生方、立命館高校の先生、ホストファミリー、そして南山国際と樹徳高校のＡＳＥＰのメンバーのみんな、ご迷惑をおかけしましたが、たった１週間の短い期間でいたが、支えてくださって本当にありがとうございました。このプロジェクトに参加していなかったらこんなにステキな冬休みは過ごせていなかったとおもうし、こんなステキな方々にも会えていなかったと思います。このことは一生忘れません。そしてこの経験を生かして将来に役立てられたらいいなと思っています。

Nanzan Kokusai High School

This winter holiday, I joined ASEP as a member from Nanzan Kokusai. ASEP was held in Taiwan and this time, we did the presentation corroborating with Shu-te High school.

At first, I thought we could do the preparation smoothly like in WYM, but we took time deciding the outlines and title for our presentation. When we finally finished deciding our outlines and title, we, Nanzan Kokusai, had our exams started and we couldn’t do much for about two weeks and when the exam was over, we only had two weeks left for the preparation in Japan. It made me feel very impatient. Then we talked with the Shu-te students and the teachers, Ms.Li-yue and Mr.Pablo, by using facebook and Skype and Nanzan Kokusai member made the power point of the seven topics, which Mr.Pablo told us to do, and did a survey through our grade. I was not sure if we could do all of them in such a short time. But surprisingly, we finished all and I think it is because of this great members.

On our flight day, I was feeling nervous, worried and excited. These feelings were pointed to my first visit to Taiwan, my host family, Shu-te students, presentation, other Japanese students and teachers. But as I arrived, nervous and worry got thinner and I had excitement left in my feeling.

The first day of our visit to Shu-te High School, I was surprised at the number of the students and it made me feel dizzy and a bit scared because I have never had so many people watching me. Then we started working on our project and our preparation went well as I thought. We finished making the power point and the script three days before the presentation. I felt relieved when we finished making our presentation and thought I am such a lucky person because I could work with the great members from Shu-te High School and Nanzan Kokusai High School.

But unfortunately, the night before presentation, I got sick and couldn’t attend the presentation. I was at the hospital on the presentation day with my host family beside me for over five hours. I still feel sorry but thank you which I can’t describe them in words.

But since I couldn’t do the presentation, I didn’t feel like going back to Japan.

At the airport, I heard that we got the gold prize and all the host families and the ASEP member came and we took our last photos.

I had a good experience by joining ASEP and made some new friends and also spent a great time with my host family and with ASEP members and also with other students from Shu-te High School. I would like to keep in touch with my new friends I made in Taiwan and I really wish to visit there again for reunion!!

If I could go back the time, I would like to do the presentation with my ASEP members or I would like to join the ASEP again next year.

Lastly, I would like to thank Mr.Kageto for making this project and Mr.Nishi for letting me join in as the member for ASEP from Nanzan Kokusai, Eri for asking me to do the WYM in summer (because if I hadn’t, I don’t think I had joined this ASEP for sure), my parents for letting me go, Ms.Li-yue, Mr.Pablo and other teachers from Shu-te High School for welcoming us and supported us with our presentation, teacher from Ritsumeikan for arranging the dinner with all the Japanese students, my host family for welcoming me to stay at your house and brought me to many places which I had so much fun, and for the last, to my ASEP members from Nanzan Kokusai and Shu-te High School. I am sure we did a great job with our preparation and also with the presentation too (which I couldn’t go but still, I know you did!). I am really sorry that I couldn’t do the presentation with you guys, but thank you for doing my part. I really wish to work with you guys again if possible!

I will never forget this and all the people I met though this experience!
