プレゼンテーションについて・・・
今回のASEPは台湾の子と共同作業でプレゼンをするということから上手くお互いの意見がまとまるかどうか心配でした。メールやビデオでのやり取りでお互いが作業を進めていくのは簡単なことではないということを学びました。思っていることの違いが生じたり、思い通りにいかなかったりして嫌な気持にもなったけれど、それもまた良い経験になったと思います。
実際に台湾の子たちに会って初め向こうが作っていたスライドを見せてもらった時は私たち日本側が想像していたものとは全く別物で気になった点がいくつかあったけれど私たちだけのプレゼンではないので台湾側の考えていることも含めてスライドを修正していくのはなかなか難しかったです。しかし私はここで譲り合うことも大事だということを学びました。
共同作業の初日では時々日本人同士が日本語で会話をしながら台湾の子たちには訳がわからず私たちだけで勝手に作業を進めてしまったという問題が起きてしまって、実際に会って話を進めていくのもまた容易なことではないとわかりました。しかしこの問題があったからこそ２日目の準備の時は私たちもそれには気をつけることができたし、先生方の助けもあって無事スライドもスクリプトも完成させることができました。このときはとても嬉しかったです。
プレゼンは練習のときはみんな流暢に話すことができたけれど、本番になって頭の中が真っ白になって言うはずのセリフが出てこなくなってしまうことが少なくなかったので今後は人前で話す練習もしていけたらより良いのではないかと思いました。
ホストファミリーについて・・・
ホストファミリーについては、私が想像していた感じと全く異なって温かく受け入れてくれたことにとても感心しました。私が何よりも感動したのが、人に対しての気遣いです。シティーツアーに連れて行ってくれた時に一緒に遊びに行った友達が混雑しているところはバックに気をつけてといってバックのチャックを前にして持つようにと教えてくれたり、服の試着をするときに私がバックを地面に置こうとした時に持ってくれたりしたことがとても嬉しかったです。些細なことだけれど私が知っている限りでの日本人同士ではここまで気遣いはないと思いました。あと、みんなフレンドリーで初対面でもすぐに仲良くなれたことがとても幸いです。私は今回が台湾に訪れるのが初めてでこんなに楽しい旅をできるとは思ってもいませんでした。ASEPに参加したことで、ホストファミリーを初め、色々な人に出会えたことは私にとってとても貴重な体験となりました。

About the presentation
I was feeling worried if both
Taiwanese and Japanese students’ opinion will get together since we’re going to work together and make one presentation. Also, I learned
that having a contact with each other by e-mail and video conference and making
our slides are not that easy. I didn’t think it good
when the ways of thinking differs and when the things didn’t work out right. However, I thought that was a good experience.
When we actually met with the Taiwanese students and saw the slides which they
were working on, our, Japanese students was imagining the very different type
of presentation. There, we found many parts that we wanted to change, but we
understood that this presentation is not only made with Japanese students so it
was difficult to fix the slides with both Taiwanese and Japanese students’ opinion.
However, I learned from this that it is important to share our opinions
together.
On the first day of working the presentation, we had a problem between
Taiwanese students and Japanese students. It was because sometimes we were
talking in Japanese and the Taiwanese students didn’t understand
what we were talking about but we kept going on with our slides. There I
learned that also is not that easy to talk in person and keep going on with our
slides. However, thanks for the problem, we got to be careful and we finally
finished with both the slides and the scripts with our teachers help. I felt so
happy about that.
About the presentation, all of us could spoke fluently during our practice, but
when we got on the stage, we got nervous and we couldn’t spoke what
we wanted to say. So I have advice that we should practice speaking in front of
many people.
About the host family
About the host family, I felt so happy because the way they welcomed me was
different from what I thought, and they welcomed me warmly. The most thing I
was impressed by was the way they treat other people. When I visited the city
tour, one of my host family’s friends told me to hold the bag with the zipper
in front of me in the crowded places, and when I tried to place the bag in the
ground when I couldn’t hold it in my hand, she hold it
for me. I felt so glad at it. I know that it is a very small thing, but as far
as I know, I thought that Japanese are not this kind to the others. What’s more, everyone was being friendly, and we could be friend when we
meet each other. This was my first time visiting Taiwan, and I didn’t imagine this trip would be so fun. By participating the ASEP, of
course the host family, but I could get to meet many people, and it will be my
precious experience ever.
