〜初めてのCoordinator〜

今回の関西大学チームは、例年と違い、文学部と総合情報学部、外国語学部の3学部が協同で参加する形となった。そんな中、今回私はCoordinatorとしての立場で参加した。前回のASEPではPresenterとしての参加であったため、私にとって初めてのCoordinatorということになる。私は、今回の経験を通して、2つ気付いたことがある。一つは自身の英語との関わりについて、もう一つはCoordinatorとしての協働プレゼンテーションへの関わりについてだ。

【自身の英語との関わり】

今回のASEPは、前回と比べてもかなり楽しかった。それは、中山大学の学生とたくさん喋って、たくさん笑ったからだと思う。大切なのは、楽しもうとすること、会話しようとすること、相手に興味を持って接することだと感じた。それを実現しようとすれば、必然的に英語で話す。そうすることで、英語能力というものは向上していくのだと思った。

そういった意味で、今回は、英語を話すだけではなく、英語で話すことができた旅であった。また、私にとって、英語で話すモチベーションは、友達を作る、友達と楽しむ、そんな単純なことなのだと、改めて知ることができた。

【Coordinatorとしての協働プレゼンテーションへの関わり】

ASEP2010での協働プレゼンテーションは、関西大学と中山大学のPresenterが部屋に籠って完成させた。その一方、Coordinatorは別室でスケジューリング等を行っていた。私はPresenterだけで話し合える環境を作れたことは良かったと思う。しかし、Presenterの経験者として、プレゼン内容についてもう少し踏み込んだ意見を与えてあげられたら良かったと思う。そうすることで、Presenterにより学びを与えられたのではないかと思う。

今回のASEP2010を振り返ると、たくさんの楽しみや学びがあった。楽しみの面では、異文化を体験できること、海外の友達ができること、英語で話せることが大きかった。また学びの面では、異文化理解、責任感をもつ大切さ、学びの環境デザインということが大きかった。このような経験を経て、自分自身また一つ成長できたと思う。

ASEP 2010

〜First Coordinator〜

This time, We Kansai University students participated as a team with three faculties of the Literature, Informatics and Foreign language. In such, I participated as a coordinator. Last time I participated in ASEP2009 as a presenter. So it was first time for me to participate as a coordinator. Through this experience, I have noticed two. One of two is about involvement with English, and other is about involvement in a collaborative presentation as a coordinator.

【Involvement with English】

This ASEP was pretty fun compared to the previous. It is because we had a lot of talking and laughing a lot with students of Sun Yat-sen University. I felt it’s important to intends to enjoy, intends to talk and attend with interested. If you try to achieve it, you will talk in English inevitably. In doing so, my English skills will be higher.

In that sense, this journey was not only speaking English but also speaking with English. Also, I was able to find again that my motivation of speaking English is making friends, enjoying with friends, it's a simple thing like that.

【Collaborative presentation as a coordinator】

Presenters of Kansai University and Sun Yat-sen University have completed collaborative presentation for ASEP2010 by being stuffy to a room. Meanwhile, the Coordinators had been scheduled in a other room. I think it was good to create an environment to discuss only presenters. But, I couldn’t give deep advises about a detail of presentation as an experienced person. In doing so, I may have given learning to presenters.

Looking back on this ASEP2010, there was lots of fun and learning. In terms of fun, experiencing a different culture, making foreign country friends and speaking English were great. Also, in terms of learning, intercultural understanding, the importance of having a sense of responsibility, designing learning environment were great. After this experience, I think I could grow.
