Take a step toward a new world

I learned a lot of things through ASEP.

The first thing is trying to tell my opinion to my teammates when communicating with people. Ifve been to New Zealand before. But I couldnft speak English well because I wasnft confident in my English. So I tried to speak English more and have a lot of communication with people this time. My host family knew Japanese singers and comics well and our conversation became lively. We sometimes couldnft tell our thoughts to each other, but we communicated with a dictionary in our hands. We needed the perseverance, but when we made ourselves understood each other, we were very happy. When I tried to tell her something, she listened to me not to miss a word and that made me feel happier.I thought the ability to communicate with people is telling ourselves and not using languages well. It may be natural for everyone, but this time I could learned that fact practically. It is one of the attractive experiences for us only if we come out from Japanese-speaking world.

The second thing is trying to anything.

I tried many things in Taiwan. One of my big challenges was joining ASEP.  I was irresolute whether I should take part in or not. I was shy and not good at speaking in front of people, and I was eager to change myself. So I decided to join. When we participated in the preparation, I was overwhelmed by the members in Taiwan because their English was wonderful and beyond my imagination. They had already started practicing for ASEP before our participation. I couldnft speak my lines well and I often was at a loss for words. In addition to, I had to speak expressively. It was difficult for me to express my feelings. So I practiced at home again and again. I have come to think that I was able to change myself by challenging to the thing which Ifve never done.

I met many people through ASEP. My host family helped me a lot. When I was in trouble and get nervous, she cheered me up many time. I met not only Taiwanese but also Japanese. We talked about our school lives and it became a good stimulation to each other.

A week when I spent in Taiwan is the busiest and fullest time Ifve ever had, but it was wonderful and unforgettable time. I want to utilize this experience and challenge to many things from now on.
