My first participation in ASEP

Wakasa High School

T.I

It was ASEP that my homeroom teacher introduced lightly. Though I was interested a little, I was not proud of English and I thought it was irrelevant to me and like the story of another world. However, I heard my friend would participate in this project and suddenly I felt reality of it. I thought that it might be a chance to change myself, so I wanted to challenge it very much. Of course I had some uneasiness, but I thought that there was no help to think more about it and I participated with a desperate feeling. Now I think that it was really good to participate.

I was surprised at the welcome expression of San Min High School students. They  cheered when we first met, and they hung us a lei, gave us a big nameplate and talked in English more positively. But I was not able to hear them well, because I was tense and was at a loss to an unexpected welcome. I felt more uneasiness to speak in English by that happening. However, the uneasiness and the tensions were gone immediately. Ellen who is my host student talked so positively to me that I can talk only eYes, Nof in their car. She always cared about me and took me almost every day to play. I saw beautiful scenery and shops which we canft see in Japan and on the contrary, I could see things that was similar to Japan. They were interesting at all so I could spend happy time. She introduced her friend to me and we went shopping with the three. I realized again that I was in a foreign country at that time when I made a friend who didnft join ASEP. The time we returned became late at night, and when I returned I took a shower and slept soon so we didnft have time to talk with host families. I felt sorry. However, everybody in her family always contacted me with a smile, so I was able to spend my almost 1 week stay comfortably. I am really full of thanks feelings.

@While practicing the presentation, I was surprised at the height of the level of San Min students. Especially Vita and Doris have better English pronunciation. They remembered and spoke the long lines smoothly so I felt that I would try hard not to frustrate everyone. But the members of Wakasa High School didn't decide our roles, so I thought that surely they felt dissatisfied many times. However, everyone didnft say anything about it and we could practice in a good atmosphere so we could leave a good result.

I appreciate people who were concerned with ASEP and the members of Wakasa High School who joined together, and two teachers who helped me and let me think many time, and friend who led me to join ASEP. I could really have a good experience. Thank you very much.
